Anthony returned to Cannington and spent many years as a truck driver transporting logs to the mills.
On retirement in 1991 he moved to Shoalwater. He was introduced to Petanque* by a friend and joined the Petanque Club which was in Rockingham but has since moved to Safety Bay, associated with the Safety Bay Bowling Club.
*Pétanque is a form of French boules usually played on hard dirt or gravel, but can also be played on grass or other surfaces. The goal is to throw metal balls as close as possible to a small wooden cochonnet or jack.
Remarkably at 90+ Anthony still enjoys playing Petanque. He attributes his fitness to the friendship and support he gives and receives as a valued member of the Club.
